Pacesetters are local companies and partner agencies that commit to completing early, high-performing fundraising campaigns for Heart of Missouri United Way. This prestigious group sets the pace early for the overall community campaign and motivates other companies to take initiative in raising funds to address needs in our community. To become a Pacesetter, a company commits to pledging a combined corporate and employee gift of more than $4,000, and to conducting workplace giving campaigns that achieve at least two of the following benchmarks:

  • 80% of employees donate through payroll deduction
  • 10% increase in employee participation over the previous year
  • 8% increase in total corporate and employee pledges over the previous year
  • 80% of employees pledging to donate
  • 8% increase in average gift from employees over the previous year
  • 10% increase in corporate gift over the previous year
  • Participate in United Way's annual Day of Caring volunteer event

During the 2016 community campaign, Pacesetters collectively raised $1,143,509 toward the overall $3 million campaign goal, which was an 11% increase over the amount raised by Pacesetters in 2015 and the largest amount raised by this group since 2010.

Heart of Missouri United Way is extremely grateful to dedicated group!
