Columbia, MO – Heart of Missouri United Way, an organization fighting for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community, is excited to host Read Across Columbia, Give 5 Graduation, and Campaign kick-off.

The Read Across Columbia media event will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 12:30-2 p.m. at Derby Ridge Elementary School. Please join Dr. Brian Yearwood, Superintendent of Columbia Public School, Andrew Grabau, CEO of Heart of Missouri United Way, and volunteers, senior leadership, and EMS from MU Health Care as they present over 2,240 books to first and second students in the Columbia Public School District. Read Across Columbia is sponsored by MU Health Care, the Peace Nook, and Daniel Boone Regional Library.  

The first Give 5 Graduation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, in conjunction with the 2022 Campaign Kick-off, at 9 a.m. at Missouri Employers Mutual. Please join Heart of Missouri United Way Board Chair Dr. Eryca Neville, Campaign Co-Chairs Adonica & DeMarko Coleman, the inaugural Give 5 graduating class, and special guest Mayor of Columbia Barbara Buffaloe for the 2022 Campaign Kick-off & Give 5 Graduation to celebrate the inaugural Give 5 cohort completing the program and pledging to “Give 5” hours a month to a nonprofit of their choice.
