Columbia, MO – Heart of Missouri United Way has hired Lorraine Gustavis as the Give 5 and Volunteer Coordinator. 

Lorraine will coordinate and manage the Give 5 volunteer program and provide logistical support for other volunteer activities. She will be the central point of contact for the Give 5 program, and will coordinate, plan, and schedule the content, speakers, and tours for the five classes for each cohort. She will also coordinate volunteer activities for area businesses and nonprofit organizations.  

Lorraine shared, “One of my favorite quotes is ‘We were meant to be rivers, not reservoirs.’ It’s good to be a part of the work at Heart of Missouri United Way and see how United Way and our community partners display that.” 

Lorraine brings years of experience in communication, training, and administrative support. Her specialties include various skills training, employee relations, and presentations. She is also a graduate of Heart of Missouri United Way’s inaugural Give 5 cohort. 

Prior to joining United Way, Lorraine was the Career Advancement Specialist with Love Columbia. Love Columbia is a nonprofit in Columbia that serves struggling individuals and provides basic needs and helps create a path forward. 

Before moving to Columbia, MO she worked for the City of Lake St. Louis. She was an independent contractor, facilitating, conducting, and training staff and teams from many St. Louis attractions, venues, and organizations. She has worked with i3Logic facilitating various topics – such as Performance Management and Generational Diversity. She has also worked for Explore St. Louis as their training manager, training numerous staff and teams from local small and large businesses in hospitality.  

Before becoming an independent contractor, Lorraine was with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, St. Louis for 14 years in varied positions, such as Executive Administrative Assistant to 4 General Managers, Director of Training and Organizational Effectiveness, and Global Learning Manager. She was also a Certified Speaker for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company’s Leadership Center and has served as a keynote and breakout speaker at various conferences, forums, and conventions.  

Lorraine holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Lindenwood University. She is passionate about charities, church, family, friends, and her community.
