Boone County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD)

Heart of Missouri United Way is proud to partner with the Boone County Office of Emergency Management to launch the Boone County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), a collaborative network designed to strengthen disaster preparedness, response, and recovery throughout Boone County.

The COAD brings together nonprofits, faith-based organizations, community and grassroots groups, businesses, and other community partners to improve coordination before, during, and after disasters. Through regular meetings and shared planning, members can build relationships, exchange resources and expertise, identify service gaps, and enhance their organization’s ability to support the community when it matters most.

No single organization can meet every need during a disaster. By working together, Boone County organizations can develop a stronger, more connected network that helps residents recover more quickly and effectively when emergencies occur. The COAD is built on the belief that community resilience starts with collaboration and preparedness.
