Heart of Missouri United Way supports 33 agencies in Boone, Cooper and Howard counties. The programs and services of these agencies fall into one of the four Community Impact areas of Education, Health, Financial Stability (Income) or Basic Needs (Safety Net). Agencies provide several programs to the community, many times these programs fall under different impact areas. Because of an agency's wide-ranging scope of health and human service programming, some partner agencies may receive program service funding in more than one impact area.
Education: programs that support school readiness, literacy and academic success.
Financial Stability: programs reduce the number of financially unstable families and individuals and support their financial independence.
Safety Net/Basic Needs: programs for that provide crisis support and intervention for families or individuals, such as food, clothing and shelter; personal safety; and a coordinated system of information and referral services.
