United Way Board of Directors appoints new members

Heart of Missouri United Way has announced Dr. Garnett Stokes, Erica Pefferman and Randall Cole as new board members. Stokes and Pefferman will serve three-year terms on the board, and Cole will serve a one-year term as an ex officio member.

Stokes joined the University of Missouri in 2015 as the provost and executive vice chancellor for Academic Affairs. She previously served as provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs and interim president at Florida State University.

Pefferman is president of The Business Times Company, which publishes CBT, COMO Living and Jefferson City Magazine, as well as operates Business Times Interactive digital marketing agency. Pefferman serves as chair of the Women’s Network and sits on the boards of Job Point and the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.

Cole is the Housing Programs supervisor for the City of Columbia and manages the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Program funds. He previously served as energy conservation coordinator for Central Missouri Community Action, where he oversaw federal funds for weatherizing lower income housing.
