Community Impact Funding Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in Heart of United Way Community Impact funding opportunities!

Please see below for important application instructions. If you have any questions, please contact Alexa New (573.443.4523 or anew@uwheartmo.org).

All funding opportunities are based on the Community Impact agenda, which has been adopted by the United Way Board of Directors as the focus of our future community investments. Please review the report
here.

Entities interested in applying for Community Impact funding must complete the following applications:

1.  Endorsed Partner Application

The Endorsed Partner application allows United Way volunteers and community professionals to review financial and governance standards of each agency applicant. This process ensures that we make sound investments in our community and vet each potentially-funded partner on behalf of our donors.

Benefits to agencies accepted as a Heart of Missouri United Way endorsed agency include use of United Way endorsement and logo, recognition in United Way marketing materials and inclusion in United Way sponsored capacity-building and professional development opportunities. Endorsed Partners are also eligible to apply to become a Funded Partner of Heart of Missouri United Way.

To download the Endorsed Partner application, please select pdf or Microsoft Word.

*Please note the 2-1-1 link on page 2 of the Endorsed Partner application is not working. Please leave that section blank and Alexa will work with 2-1-1 to verify that you are entered/updated.

Endorsed Partner applications will be accepted on an on-going basis but must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 30th, 2012 should you intend to apply for funding.

2.  Community Impact Letter of Intent

As the first phase in our Community Impact funding process, agencies interested in applying for funding from Heart of Missouri United Way must complete a brief letter of intent in order to be considered. Please review the Community Impact report and thoughtfully consider how your agency may help the United Way impact the goals and targets outlined. Please complete a letter of intent for each strategy for which you seek funding.

To download the Letter of Intent, please select pdf or Microsoft Word.

The letter of intent application is due no later than 5 pm on March 30th. Late applications will not be considered.

The letter of intent stage of the funding application process has been developed to gain a sense of the types of strategies that agencies may submit for funding consideration. As such, the requirements include a simple, one-page narrative about the strategy your agency may employ. Please use the Community Impact agenda as a guide. We are seeking innovative, creative solutions to the targets and goals in the agenda. Collaborations and partnerships are encouraged as well.

Community Impact Advisory Councils in each impact area (made up of community volunteers) will review the letters of intent and distribute a full request for funding application to applicants in May 2012. This second phase of the funding process will require additional information about strategy budget details, outcomes and measurements. Funding will be announced by August 31st, 2012 and will be allocated beginning in January 2013.
