The following are some of the training and retooling opportunities provided by Heart of Missouri United Way to its partner agencies during the transition to Community Impact. (All trainings provided in 2010-2011 were at no cost to the agencies.)
- Free diversity training sponsored and hosted by Missouri Employers Mutual (MEM) for all agency partners
- Free adult and infant CPR training and certification provided by the American Red Cross
- Provided and paid for one-on-one technical assistance and training for struggling agency programs
- Provided board training from a National Board Training Expert
- Paid for four (4) Executive Directors to attend an ongoing professional development roundtable geared toward professional development
- Provided training on new benefits packages and retirement rules for nonprofits
- Provided a one-day workshop with all of the top local marketing firms presenting to agencies
- Brought in a National Thought Leader to educate and train on poverty
- With a corporate partner, provided a National Thought Leader to speak about the Five Trends in Nonprofit Services
- Provided training and technical assistance to agencies and boards of directors on Operations/Administration/Grant Writing/Strategic Planning
- Worked with statewide nonprofit to ensure agencies had training monies (underwritten) to attend training on program evaluation
