COLUMBIA, MO (February 21, 2012) – At a public meeting this morning at Columbia College with more than 160 community members in attendance, Heart of Missouri United Way unveiled its new Community Impact agenda outlining its goals and targets, announced new funding opportunities, and shared three new levels of partnerships.
Heart of Missouri United Way seeks highly motivated, detail oriented community engagement or public affairs professional for immediate FT opening. Requires excellent organization, communication & customer service skills, knowledge of local non-profit human services & volunteer coordination experience. Master’s degree in a related field preferred. Minimum Bachelor’s degree and 5 years relevant experience required.

Unlimited Opportunities, a Heart of Missouri United Way agency in Boonville, Missouri, caught fire on the morning of Thursday, February 2nd.  No one was injured, though the building was completely destroyed by fire.
COLUMBIA, MO (January 25, 2012) - The Heart of Missouri United Way (HMUW) Board of Directors unanimously voted today to adopt and implement a new strategy, called Community Impact, which beginning in 2013 will focus its work on supporting strategies that help at-risk mid-Missouri youth to succeed in school and life.
Columbia’s Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library begins its fifth year with an organizational meeting on January 19 at 5:00 p.m. at the Daniel Boone Regional Library (100 W. Broadway in Columbia) in the Virginia Young Conference Room.
At its Campaign Celebration on Tuesday evening, December 6th, Heart of Missouri United Way announced that it met its annual fundraising goal by raising $3,451,914. For the 51st year in a row, Heart of Missouri United Way set a goal higher than the year before; and despite a challenging economy, the people of mid-Missouri rose to the occasion and dug deeper than ever before to help make a difference in their community.
